  •  that's right (0+ / 0-)

The earth is round. People who say it is flat, are wrong. Period. End of debate.

Sorry if you don't like that.  Reality sucks.  (shrug)

In the end, reality always wins.

    •  That's not an analogy. (0+ / 0-)

Nobody's fallen off the edge of the Earth and we can see the sphere from space.

Find an actual analogy and get back to me between your going to events and shouting down more speakers you disagree with.

Besides why would you see the need to silence or shout down a flat earther? People can see for themselves the fool he is, right out of his own mouth.

      Maybe here you fear something.

      •  I do indeed fear something . . . . (0+ / 0-)

I feat that the anti-science crackpots of all the various stripes will one day win, and we will as a society once again go back to living in our own shit and praying to the sun god to cure our diseases.

I have no desire to see a repeat of The Dark Ages.

In the end, reality always wins.

        •  Best method (0+ / 0-)

Doing the reverse:  Going to the other side and refuting them through debate.

Shutting them down to begin with would just raise suspicions you're unsure enough of your own position you fear to test it in open forum.

          •  oddly enough, that is exactly what the (0+ / 0-)

            creationists keep saying . . . . .

There is no "debate". The earth is not flat.  Period.

In the end, reality always wins.

            •  So both sides feel (0+ / 0-)

...they are 100% absolutely omniscient about it.  Not sure how you can attract many converts that way.

So continue to preach to the choir and see how far that gets you.

You can look at a photo and see the sphere of the Earth immediately.  You can't see a photo of global warming.  So this does need debate.
