    there was a time not so long ago that any critique of Israeli foreign policy, let alone policies regarding the occupied territories, was considered fringe and wrong.  The blame was exclusively on the Palestinians. Vanessa Redgrave spoke about the suffering of the Palestinians under Israeli occupation, and she got lots of hate for that.

    Jimmy Carter negotiated the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt, and had some credibility when he wrote about apartheid

    and while at first he was vilified, it became at least possible to talk about it.  

    Now there is a new change, you can see it at MSNBC.  Chris Hayes has been visibly shocked at the carnage, and Steve Kornacki got angry at Barney Frank for saying he was on the other side. Now it's not just here, which since I have been here anyway has been the place where we do talk about it, it's talked about on MSNBC.

    free speech is spreading, and since lies only live in the dark, this is a good thing.
