  •  Appeal to swing voters and non-voters on their (0+ / 0-)

issue which is money out of politics. Promise to develop and introduce a bill, regardless of opposition from the Democratic Party bosses, that imposes new strict regulations on big money campaign spending, relies on public financing. Run against the Supreme Court and McCutcheon. Engage voters on your bill, which overturns Buckley and is protected from Court review under the exceptions clause. Take a stand that an amendment is a misguided pipe dream (see FDR saying the same in fireside chat 3-9-37) but that Congress can get the easier numbers to pass strong anticorruption law. Modern Democratic Party since FDR is about legislative action, a revived Congress, not pandering to a reactionary court. Run against the big money GOP. If you lose, you build for the legislative revolution that must inevitably happen. If you take this assignment, you become the only leader of a movement no one wants to lead because they're part of a corrupt system. This is Washington's issue, you're the one.

I tried to respond and failed....briefly without money you can't actually do any of that beyond posting a blog nobody in your district is likely to look at, much less a "disengaged" potential voter.
