  •  I suppose for some people (12+ / 0-)

politics is all about individuals, self-annointed tribunes of the people.  Somebody once said, great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss personalities.  I believe the same applies to personalities.

I don't believe the American people are well served by economic and domestic policies of the sort of absolutist "profits before people" neoliberal hegemony that we saw millions of Americans recently ruined, while the banksters responsible were bailed out by the tax dollars of those ruined; nor by a foreign policy of American Exceptionalist neoconservative global interventionism.  Unfortunately, our "pragmatists", our "realists" see fit to serve us up no alternative, no options in either regard, the hegemony of those ideologies is and must be absolute, beyond any question or challenge.  Any voice raised which questions such dogma is quickly dismissed as "purist extremism", suitable only for mockery, marginalization, and social silencing.  To this day, those of us who o[pposed the Iraq War remain the objects of scorn and ridicule, while those who counseled, aided and abetted it remain the Voices of Reason, Thought and Understanding.

This is a profound dysfunction in our system that must ultimately lead to our own undoing, but as long as the egos of those Wiser Heads are unscathed, the course will not alter a single iota.

Pay no attention to the upward redistribution of wealth!
