take this sort of position.  Her bio reads that she is 25 years old with 3 kids and her husband is a combat veteran.  No mention of his branch of service or duty station but I would think someone who has a family member who has been there and done that would take a more measured view since, even if he is discharged, there are still other friends and family who may currently be in harm's way.
However I note the wingers have gone mad over this lady, asserting that WV will turn red in 2014 as Democrats will vote out the "Liberals" for being mean to her (hey, whaddya expect from the comment section over at "The Blaze"?)

      Here is her latest screed:

being Secretary of my LRP/Ranger association, I know quite a few. They usually agree/mirror their husband's conservative leanings, else they couldn't live with the SOBs.
Most of my friends would tell this one to STFU, mature men don't like open carry

when I was growing up, it was either farming or the military.  That was during the active draft so for many, it was the draft and then farming.  The next generation it was military or plant work, with fewer choosing farming and some preferring to open a business.  Latest generation it has been opening a business or military and even if they do decide to stay civilian, they rely on NG or Reserves to bring in extra money for the household.

In 1974, I hoped that we had seen the last generation of war widows in this country.  Since GWB's wars, we now have the distinction of several local guys being KIA or WIA in the course of events.  I note many local vets who served in WWII, Korea and VN advise their kids against service since GWB.

You are right about being able to live with the SOBs as many lifers in this area (since we are also a retirement destination for military retirees) are on their third or fourth marriages or are avowed women haters.
