    another way the deck is stacked against the non-affluent. These jobs get your foot in the door and enhance your resume. But if mommy and daddy cannot pay your rent and give you spending money, then you pretty much have to pass these opportunities up for a job at CostCo.

      and benefits.  At this point most working-class Americans only dream they could get a job as good as Costco.

      (True, it's not a rung on the political ladder.)

      Doesn't seem right but I'm new to this thing.  She got a partial scholarship for hers and put up the rest herself.  We gave her a plane ticket and her folks helped with food.  It can be done.  Not sure she was that fond of Washington.  CA girl nearly froze to death.
