In order to not-pee, you drink less fluids.

This can cause varying degrees of dehydration.

Dehydration plus long periods sitting in one position can lead to thromboembolism (deep veinous thrombosis, DVT, dangerous blood clots in the legs).

Thromboembolism can go one of three ways:

The blood clot migrates to your heart and you die suddenly.

The blood clot migrates to your brain and you become a vegetable.

The blood clot goes to your lungs (pulmonary embolism) and you die slowly.   (Of these, this is the most common and preferable outcome because you have time to get to a hospital and get treated.)

Thromboembolism has a 30% fatality rate overall.

Thromboembolism is also known as "airline seat death," as it occurs to airline passengers on long flights, who don't drink enough water to replace the water they lose in the low-humidity environment of the airplane cabin, and remain in their seats for long periods of time.

At least one person I know of on DK had pulmonary embolism and lived to tell about it.

This is what the company is putting its employees at risk for.

    Boycott, boycott, boycott.

We got the future back. Uh-oh.

I have type one diabetes and sometimes I will deliberately not drink if I am headed to an important meeting and don't want to have to leave to pee. I only do this for very important meetings because dehydrated diabetics put themselves at risk.

I also had DVT then PE and it was definitely related to my unwise choice to drink less so I'd pee less. This was before I accepted what I have to do to properly manage my diabetes.

Anyone with a health need should get a letter from doctor.

and shame on this company, treating adult employees like children, infantilizing them. And showing their employees distrust and skepticism. Only desparate people would work for this outfit.
