I watched “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” faithfully since it appeared to be the only morning news program that I could stomach without hurling epithets at the talking heads opining so arrogantly on television.

But alas ... all good things must come to an end, and I stopped watching when they brought Bill Kristol on to talk about what we should do with the current crisis in Iraq.  Are you kidding me?!? BILL KRISTOL????  The same guy who helped push us into war with Iraq in the first place?  The same guy who said the Iraq war would only last 2 months and that we would be greeted as liberators?  The same guy who said that there was almost no evidence that the Shia can't get along wit the Sunni?  The same guy who emphatically stated that the battles of Iraq and Afghanistan had been won decisively in April 2003?  The very same guy who recently blamed the American people's war weariness on OBAMA??  What the hell?  And Radditch (who was filling in for George, and who I normally can tolerate) said NOTHING to Kristol about his obvious biases and flagrant lies to push a war on to us ... yet AGAIN!  Kristol is an expert on what NOT to do, but they treated him as if he were some sage person who had something very wise to say on the subject.

So, I wrote the program an email and said I would not watch anymore. Using Bill Kristol as a so-called "expert" in this issue is tantamount to asking Thomas J. Watson, chairman of IBM who said in 1942 that there would only be a world market for just about 5 computers, to comment on why computer sales are at a lull.  OR like having 1972 British surgeon and Prof. of Physiology at Toulouse who said "Louis Pasteur's theory of germs is ridiculous fiction", talk about the latest antibiotics. OR, like bringing Dick Cheney on a program to talk about how the Iraq and Afghanistan wars worked out SO well for us.

Now I'm left with trying to sift through various radical or non-American media outlets so that I can get some semblance of the truth, such as Thom Hartmann, the BBC, or the Christian Science Monitor.  Thanks, George and Radditch, for listening to your corporate masters, because I can only assume it was they who thought Bill Kristol would make a good 'expert'.
