    The point of this diary was not "who's winning in the religion versus science battle," but rather, that dogmatism of any variety - a closed mind - IS the problem.  I'm sorry that point did not get across and your feedback will help me to hopefully write more clearly in the future so as not to confuse people.

    BTW I don't support "intelligent design."

      one's mind can be so open that everything falls out of it.  Judgment is necessary, and the question is how to judge and choose well, not avoid judgemental actions.  Brains use it constantly.

      Sometimes journalistic bliss-tripping results from attempts to be fair and balanced when understanding of the subject is inadequate.  In those cases the discussion becomes one of alternated generalities.

      Created and evolved descriptions of reality are opposed.  One must choose, and judge wisely.

      I aim to live in agreement with Benjamin Franklin's admonition to "Wrong none by doing injuries, or omitting the benefits that are your duty."
