college field term I saw every show then on and off Broadway. Company was the only show I saw twice, and it remains probably my favorite theater going experience. Just wish I could have stayed long enough in NY to see Follies next year.

different versions of Company, in full, if you're interested. One dates from (I think) 2006 or so and the other is more recent, with Patti Lupone in the role of Joanne and Neil Patrick Harris in the starring role. The latter one is a staged concert version -- the orchestra is right behind the players -- but I actually like it better.

So far, I can only find clips of Follies...bummer. I'd love to see the whole thing.

What made the original production so exciting, beside the cast and Sondheim score, was the staging by Prince and in particular Michael  Bennett. That and the Boris Aronson set. Its a real shame that there is nor physical record of it or any  Sondheim show's original production  before  Sweeney Todd. I've heard that it would be prohibitively expensive to re-stage Follies as originally done.

that it would be prohibitively expensive...I would settle for a staged concert version, just to see the whole Follies.

You're right, it's a shame none of the original versions were taped (and available to us).
