      If you're going to include the votes of one independent, then you should also include the votes of the rest of them, particularly one independent who got over five percent.

      If you include this independent's vote along with Cutler, Mitchell, and LePage, then LePage's vote goes down to 39 percent. If you include all the candidates, and use the total vote, then LePage got only 38.3 percent.

      By using the three-way vote (and particularly excluding a candidate who got over five percent), you are artificially inflating LePage's numbers, making it seem like he did better than he actually did. Someone who is just skimming your diary will think that LePage got over 40 percent of all votes, even though he didn't.

      Florida, Ohio and Michigan back from the Republicans.  And I think we have a good shot at Florida and Michigan, and lately, polling seems to indicate Kasich has run into some head winds in Ohio.
