    to build up a base over an issue without throwing elections to the other side. It would have allowed people who were so minded to vote for, say, Nader and Gore but not Bush in 2000, and then Gore would have won easily and taken the first available meeting about the terrorists after his inauguration. Or been briefed even before.

      Get rid of the electoral college - it's an outmoded system that's outlived it's usefulness. Voting should also be moved from Tuesday to weekends, both Saturday and Sunday.
