I went to a meeting last night re. the expansion of medicaid in Missouri. It is a group that has been meeting regularly made up mostly of hidden liberals and crazy progressives (like me) with a few non-political people...Last night the group was much larger than it has been because of a number of those poor people, the working poor, showing up. They came from two small churches in the area whose pastors have just recently joined us. At our next meeting we are asking each one to bring another one.....if we can get 100 people energized around this, we can make some waves.

      •  Oh that is BRILLIANT! (0+ / 0-)

I do hope they all show up next time and want to bring someone with them the time after that. At some stage, make sure they are all registered to vote and have the requisite ID if needed. Maybe this meeting can turn into a GOTV movement too? Perhaps couch it in terms of "how do we help get people to the ballot box to help their cause and ours?"?

          •  Have you talked to navajo about this? (0+ / 0-)

She and the team may be able to offer some assistance. It's a great initiative!
