People like Geogre are why we lost seats like WV-01 in 2010, primarying an insufficiently liberal long-term incumbent who would have easily held the seat. Now that seat is McKinley's until he dies or retires. So thanks, "reformist wing", for putting the House even further out of our reach.

There's a time to be purity police, and there's a time not to be purity police. Want to reform the party, then primary folks like Diane Feinstein in California, or Chuck Schumer in New York, or Dick Durbin in Illinois, or Dan Lipinski in IL-03, or John Tierney in MA-06, or Stephen Lynch in MA-08. Do not primary backbenchers who are currently holding on to borrowed real estate. Fire the ones in real estate we own down to its foundations.

You're not going to convince anyone to see things your way by calling them the "D-Party Tea Party". That is the takeaway message from my post. It's up to you if you don't take that away.

        ...we shall all hang separately."

On another diary today, about Orwell, there was some mention of Homage to Catalonia, Orwell's book about the Spanish Civil War. The Left couldn't overcome its factional differences and work together, so the Fascists won, leading to 40 years of dictatorship.

Forgive my easy resort to another cliche: we will learn from history or be doomed to repeat it.
