    real-time inventory control system. My mistake. I was told by a manager in the store that often items that are supposed to be in stock have a way of "disappearing". She meant theft, but I'm guessing that employees often put in-demand items aside for themselves or friends and relatives.

    Every time I shop at Walmart, which is only a handful of times a year, I am reminded of why I don't like shopping at Walmart. Plus, most of their prices aren't that low anymore. And the stores are unpleasant to navigate.

      They are really about creating a low expectation.  

      They seem to say to you as you walk in, "This is all you deserve.  Be satisfied with this shithole."
