  •  MI-Sen...Oh Terri (8+ / 0-)

It's old news, but I do like how the story is continuing to play out, and that peters' campaign is keeping the pressure on.

Gotta love how Terri and her husband BOTH omitted joint assets from their disclosures, as if joint accounts somehow belonged to neither of them but existed in an alternate universe.

And yes this is MI's former SoS lol...

    •  This (10+ / 0-)

This was exactly why the state Republican Party was concerned about her getting the nomination, and they couldn't beg anyone else to run for this seat.

BTW, Oh Terri should totally be made into a hashtag. lol

I'm notorious for believing campaigns shouldn't be doing that much advertising in mid-summer, but this issue combined with media coverage can really destroy her candidacy.

The ad can clearly lay out that she's either corrupt or incomptent, which voters won't like choosing.

I don't think Peters has run any television ads since his introduction ads earlier in the season.  At least, I haven't seen any if he has.  It seems Peters and Schauer are spending their moneey for organization.  Land and Snyder have spent more money on television...and it hasn't gotten them much as each have been slowly put steadily losing ground.  I'd say the Dems are doing right by their money for the time being.

Where a little money spent has some big bang for the buck.  I agree with their overall strategy (i.e. i think July/August ad spend isn't usually great), but just planting this issue in the back of voter minds and then hammering post-Labor Day would be beneficial.

And scandals like this are usually more effectively employed in earned media rather than paid. Paid media introduces an element of partisanship to the accusation. I think they're playing this right. You can always run paid ads later on the topic.
