Extolling the positive outcomes and connections from NN14

Look , of you do not want to come hear, don't. But why are you casting doubts and dispersions on Netroots nation?

(two of the venues that I've attended), but I really didn't see a lot of follow-up from Netroots Nation here in the Bay Area after NN13. Of course, we already had a strong local presence with the SF Kossacks group (and now have a Silicon Valley Kossacks as well) -- if I wasn't so up to my ass in moving and family crises I'd be a lot more active. It could be that the local outreach wasn't that needed. But I'd rather see smaller regional gatherings that can potentially reach more people and can focus attention on local issues to reach voters where they live.

    •  I witnessed NN 11 in Minneapolis... (0+ / 0-)

...and not much of a tangible nature happened in the events I saw.  I enjoyed showing off my cities to the visitors, and even ran a series of FDL posts doing a Countdown to NN 11 (here's one of them),  but I was under no illusions that world peace would be declared.

There was a bit of networking, and a lot of what a disgusted blogger friend of mine saw as "starfucking" -- that is to say, not so much literal as figurative groupieism as many of the local progs chased after the visiting "A-list" Pros from Dover, hoping to at least touch the hems of their garments.

The most interesting thing happened not in NN 11 proper, but outside of the Convention Center, when a local right-wing blogger, John Hugh "Shabbas Goy" Gilmore, who is inexplicably beloved of some of the local progressive "bro bloggers", assaulted a female pedicabbie and her two Muslim friends because the Muslim ladies were dressed in hijab.
