    The amount of money a candidate has really has no bearing on how strong a challenger they are.

    In CT-Sen 2012, Shays would undoubtedly have been a stronger candidate than McMahon. He had much less money. Look at David Kanuth in the CA-33 primary; he spent over a million dollars to get a little over a thousand votes. He was hardly a strong candidate.

    Particularly in blue states, the amount of money that candidates have really means almost nothing.
