There will be a war for Minority Leader if McConnell actually goes down.

The rabid Teabaggers will want one of their own to go after it, be it Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, or maybe someone like Ron Johnson.

I honestly can't see Paul or Cruz doing it, because I think they like their own self-perceived "Maverickness" and would rather be able to go do whatever they want to do and make dumbass remarks, and I just don't see them wanting to take the Leader mantle knowing Business/Establishment Republicans and supporters would weigh heavy on them.

I could see Mike Lee doing it, but outside of him, who else could claim the "Tea Party" mantle?

Johnson? Maybe, but his most recent claim to fame is having his lawsuit tossed.

    Rubio? HA.

Ayotte? Probably not. Plus, she's got a ladybrain, so no.

There's just a lot of garden-variety Republicans who probably wouldn't really inspire anyone.

Cornyn would seem like the "Heir Apparent" for sure, but beyond that? Hatch? Inhofe?

It'll be a civil war, and popcorn will be needed.

none of the real "tea party" guys want the responsibility.  Their whole thing is to snipe fro mthe right about purity.  Hard to do if you're in charge of moving the occasional  piece of legislation even the R's think is must-pass.  When Boehner was first elected, he was the tea partier of his class, and now he's not good enough for them.

      Difficult, difficult, lemon difficult.

Johnson, Rubio and Ayotte all are up for reelection in 2016 and all are in serious trouble (Johnson's pretty much doomed) Plus, Rubio still has Presidential delusions.

It'll likely be Cornyn against Thune, unless some dark horse emerges.
