  •  Liberty, not privacy (3.83)
The right to privacy emerges from Liberty, along with other rights.

And abortion isn't about "choice" (what a weak word!), or "privacy" (a legal framework), but about LIBERTY.

The right to keep and bear arms isn't about militias, it's about Liberty.

    Et cetera.

There is an unsubtle difference between breathing fire and blowing smoke.

    •  Liberty sounds nice, but it's a bit too abstract (none)
I think.  Privacy is more tangible and better encapsulates an 'ethos' of keeping govt out of people's medical decisions, bedrooms, etc.
      •  bushco is more about the right (none)

      •  What would Patrick Henry say? (none)
"Give me privacy or give me death!"

Doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?

        •  While I agree with you... (none)
"Liberty" is SO late 18th Century... heh.  Today's dumbed-down vernacular usage for the concept is "freedom".  But, it doesn't hurt to pair the words up to emphasize the point: freedom and liberty, liberty and freedom, etc.

I also like saying that conservatives who hate liberals hate liberty.

          There's some "freedom-haters" for you!
