      grown in Iowa.  But then, with coming droughts and warming, it may need to be irrigated even in Iowa.

      What is certain is that US govt subsidies for corn and ethanol requirements for gasoline (which intakes more energy than output) are vastly wasteful and displace agriculture in other nations due to US' dirt cheap exports. We wreak havoc in many ways, just through corn subsidies.

        Climate change is already pushing corn production north. Eventually, you won't be able to grow corn in north America. Corn needs a certain mean air temp and humidity, quite apart from needing adequate water.

        Voting is the means by which the public is distracted from the realities of power and its exercise.
