  •  I'm still digging up multi-flora roses (7+ / 0-)

    that were recommended by Organic Gardening magazine AND the farm advisor as perfect for preventing erosion in my situation, a quarter acre on a slight slope. That was in 1971.  I can't kill them. They're zombies or something.

    I adore day lilies and used to have many wonderful shades of butter yellow, my favorites. Deer don't touch them much but the gophers decimate them. Dang.

    The old Hemerocallis fulva is stronger tasting and neither deer nor gophers will touch it. Kind of a garish orange though.
