  •  60 Minutes Rumor (3+ / 0-)

I have absolutely no reason to believe that any rumor reported on 60 Minutes exists in the real world, except insofar as 60 Minutes might be starting such a rumor that people repeat, which 60 Minutes reports again later as being confirmed.

We call that "rumorang" and it's what passes for journalism on credulous "news and analysis" infotainverts like 60 Minutes.

    •  Well, they sent a reporter (0+ / 0-)

traveling around Central America asking people what they had heard about the United States and undocumented children.  Now maybe the reporter prompted the people first with the "correct" answer, hard to say.  But they made more of an effort than armchair rumor-mongering.

I should add the reporter was NOT Lara Logan.  If we can't trust 60 Minutes reporting, is there a television new agency that we can trust?

I don't trust any TV news that I can't corroborate by googling multiple independent sources. And even then I'm not sure - just sure enough for whatever purpose TV news serves. Which is no longer anything but definitive.
