why it is that white, non-Hispanics are barely a majority of the population in Texas, yet Republicans always win everything statewide?

Do Latinos there have some sort of battered spouse/Stockholm syndrome? I mean ... in other states like Nevada and New Mexico they don't put up with this stuff. What's so special about Texas?

Your right wing supreme court has made it just dandy for Chinese, Germans, whoever as long as they're rich as Croesus to "donate" as much hard cash to candidates for governmental office and anonymously too so we can't find out that Joe Wingnut is owned lock stock and barrel by the Chinese.

And you have the NERVE to spread some weird conspiracy theory about liberals wanting non-citizens to vote? And don't lie, you do believe that don't you?

    •  White (non-Latino) are a plurality: (3+ / 0-)

44%. Latinos make up 38.4% and African Americans are the majority of the rest.

The percentage of Latinos under 15 = 30%
                                              ages 15-19 = 9%

      The percentage of Non-Latino whites under 15 = 17%
                                                     ages 15-19 = 6%

So 23% of non-Latino Whites are 19 years of age and younger while 39% of Latinos in Texas are in that younger age group.
Essentially, a big chunk of Latinos are too young to vote while a much smaller chunk of Whites are too young.

In addition, some percentage of the Latino community might not be citizens so that means they can't vote.

Eventually, those young Latinos will be able to vote and then woe to the Republicans in Texas!!!

While Democrats work to get more people to vote, Republicans work to ensure those votes won't count.

    •  Could it be that a great majority of them (0+ / 0-)

are illegal, and can't vote? hmmm?

      •  Gee could it have anything to do with (0+ / 0-)

a century and three quarters of white racism against Latinos in a land they've lived in for 400 years?

Try to wrap your mind around that one, ace.
