As a Jersey resident I can honestly say Sweeney not only would be a disaster as our candidate, but as Governor too. He is a corrupt crony who is pretty much has his soul owned by the Christiecrat Norcross South Jersey machine. If he is our nominee for Governor then I'll most likely vote for the Republican instead.

His main opponent, Jersey Mayor Steve Fulop is already doing all he can to try to make alliances. Recently he formed a "Mayors Against Crime" alliance with Newark Mayor Baraka (a Fulop supporter) and Paterson Mayor Joey Torres, (with Trenton Mayor Jackson expected to join soon). This is likely to start building up support for Fulop's Governor campaign.

    •  Wholeheartedly agree (3+ / 0-)

      I back Fulop 100%.

Another article on dominoes falling in the case of a Booker or Menendez movement; Politicker is in full speculation mode today:

I'm not a fan of much of the PolitickerNJ staff. Half the stuff they post (including much of today's work) is pulled out of their a__.

If it's a Sweeney vs. Fulop race, the only support Sweeney can expect out of Hudson will be from Stack. For them to even speculate that Prieto would support Sweeney over Fulop is complete garbage.

The reason for all of these speculative pieces today I would assume is because they can't or won't bother reporting on some real news.

It does border on tabloid quality at times.

We also can't forget the Phil Murphy factor.  I don't think he'll gain much traction, but you never know.

but it does break some solid news.  Like it was a must-read when 2013 election results came in and was the first to declare Greenstein beat Inverso.

He was talking about rebuilding Jersey City.  And being rebuilt it is.  When I was on the State Island Ferry last week, I saw more than a few construction cranes at work in Jersey City.  I mistook it for Newark at first.
