    has a solid lock on Washington, and I don't see any functional remedies at this point. Cowardice and complicity are too rampant there.

      Def Con, C3 and similar organizations are one example of why and how to keep the pressure on to shift the balance and change hearts and minds.

      The thing is to pressure those inside to rethink their values and how they can use their talents to promote freedom instead of eroding it, and to improve the opportunities for those outside to stay outside.

      It's an arms race of a different type, but one where math is actually the most powerful weapon.

      An interesting thing happened last year; Def Con banned NSA and specifically called-out Alexander, and Black Hat took the opportunity to invite him.

      The bright line drawn now needs to be pushed at the academics and friendly corporations to make ethical choices or face the music just as with Apartheid.
