  •  Cheers to a clean bill of health! (22+ / 0-)

No problems found and now I have ended a series of checkups - general medical, eyes and skin - with flying colors. I may have inherited my father's iron constitution.  I hope that I escaped his personality! Snapping turtle comes to mind.

Cheers to another beautiful day in New Mexico!

Jeers to our congress critter for being made fun of for traveling to Guatemala, never leaving the hotel because of the dangers in the streets, and then issuing a statement that the children on our border were just leaving for economic reasons.  Way to go Steve!  Are the voters paying attention to this, or are we going to see the reelection of the same idiots in November?  I WILL VOTE! (Sorry about the caps, but voter apathy really irritates me, especially now.)

Jeers to all the uninformed people freaking about Ebola and the return of the two stricken doctors.  Get a grip!  Not vaccinating your kids, driving in LA traffic, traveling in the back country of Mississippi while black, or standing on a beach in a lightening storm, and many others are bigger dangers.  If Ebola comes to the US it will be some unscreened traveler, not from some heavily guarded and hazmat-suited known case. Jeeze! And I thought that I was a coward.

      Larry Niven's Puppeteers.

Because they are motivated by fear for their survival, which overrides every other consideration, the Puppeteer Government has evolved into a dangerous manipulative force. They would not think twice about meddling with the affairs of other species, up to and including extermination of that species, if they thought there survival was at risk.
