  •  One Partisan Hack for Another (none)
I do not question that Roberts is very conservative, even partisan. I would need to read some of what he wrote to reach an opinion as to w whether he is a hack. But, regardless, it would be impossible for  him to be in the same league of partisan hackerdom as Rove. Rove is an underhanded, mean spirited, lying, selfish political hack of the first order.

I do agree that the timing of the annoucement was intended to divert the public and the media from Rove. But it will only work if the blogs and media let it. We will have only ourselves to plame, I mean, blame.

There is plenty of time to discuss Roberts. We must stay on the trail of the unrepentant liar/snitch.

    •  Well his whole career has been GOP patronage jobs (none)
He clerked for Rehnquist, was consul in both the Reagan and Bush senior administrations, worked for Ken Starr. They don't give those jobs to independent, competent lawyers. Those jobs go to young comers they are grooming for the future.
      •  Actually (none)
you need real legal chops to get a SCOTUS clerkship.  It is my understanding that those jobs don't go to the C students, no matter who they know.

If you want something other than the obvious to happen, you've got to do something other than the obvious...
