  •  Whatever the best explanation (16+ / 0-)

for the travesty in Missouri, every "cop," every "cop" administrator, should feel humiliation and shame.  I highly doubt they have that level of moral reflection, of course.

is that many PD's are deeply ashamed at this time.

Also, almost to a certainty, what will come out is that the chief of the Ferguson PD allowed things to get out of control long before the Brown killing/murder.

Tragic for the young man and his family but probably all to familiar to the citizens of Ferguson.

Considering that they're bringing in outside agencies for support, and they're all acting this way, what we see in Ferguson is endemic.

But my point is that there are decent PD's in America. Across Bull Connor's south? No so much.

Our local sheriff wanted a SWAT team formed here several years ago. People said "What?!". And then "No."

And, before some tooth-sucker points it out, I realize that MO is not part of BC's south.

no doubt some individuals who became a part of the police force for all the wrong reasons, do not, will not morally reflect.

But those who are good men and women with a morally balanced center, probably are more disgusted with this than most.  This racist group make it bad for the truly good police officers, who want to protect their communities.

I know some want this to be an us against them thing,  but we cannot, should not allow it.  Yes, even some good officers need more education, better training.   But let's not condemn all for the actions of some.
