  •  I am hoping what has happened (11+ / 0-)

in Ferguson has finally hit a chord in this country. I am skeptical but I really hope so. I listen to conservative talk radio everyday on the way to work, and they haven't  formulated their line of attack yet. They are cynical bastards, but up to this point they haven't been willing to wade in. However now that Obama has weighed in, and now that Steve King has done everything but call the citizens of Ferguson the n word, they will rush to defend him, and before the end of the day, we will be hearing about calls for impeachment because Obama has inserted himself into state issue where he has no authority. You can expect to see more pictures of young black men in bandanas appearing on Drudge, Breibart, and Fox News. You will hear about every single incident of discipline Michael Brown received at school since he was five years old. You will hear pundits on Fox saying that Martin Luther King would be siding with the police. Get ready, it started on Hannity last night with the police chief. What I don't think the right realizes is that this time they are walking into a batch of quicksand that they won't be able to weasel their way out of. If they do what we all know they are going to it will bury them with every minority in this country forever.

Ferguson will hit a chord in this country about racism, militarization of police forces, police above the law, attacking journalists and peaceful protestors just like Sandy Hook finally cleaned up our gun laws?

[Terrorists] are a dime a dozen, they are all over the world and for every one we lock up there will be three to take his place. --Digby
