  •  Anonymous released the wrong name (14+ / 0-)

In the press conference yesterday, the chief was asked about that first name, and denied it. Then, he was asked a second name, which was Darren Wilson, and the chief stumbled. He had gotten trapped in a game of "was it this one?" and couldn't deny the second name. He is an incompentent bumbler.

I just want to live somewhere warm. Is that so wrong?

    •  And they corrected it ASAP (12+ / 0-)

I really wish people would quit harping on it already. What more could they have done besides acknowledge their mistake and correct it in print?

If it weren't for Anon, we would not be quite as far along with this as we've come.

      •  but, lunachickie, if it were one of your family... (0+ / 0-)

members who had been misidentified in such a manner, can you honestly say you would just wave it off?

      •  Here's what more they could have done. (0+ / 0-)

They could have publicly committed to setting up structures and systems of accountability to ensure that mistakes like that would not happen again.

Suppose the Ferguson PD and St. Louis County PD were to state: "We screwed up big-time with our response to the protests over the last week, and we're sorry about that, but we're not going to change anything about our procedures or personnel as a result."

Would you accept that? I know I sure as hell wouldn't.

So how are Anonymous members going to change their practices in order to ensure that they don't make this mistake again?
