is in the police tapes (which I think have been available to the public - and Anonymous) is there any mention from the officer that "we've located a suspect in the robbery?"

It seems to me that all of the information about his being a suspect in the cigar robbery came out after he was murdered. So even if he robbed the store (which seems likely, unfortunately for justice) did Officer Wilson KNOW that when he shot him?

    •  I am reposting what I just wrote in another (4+ / 0-)

      diary:

      MSNBC reported Michael's companion
had told FBI and other investigators Michael had taken cigarellos from the store.

A total supposition on my part is that this officer hadn't heard of the robbery yet, and the murder scene went down as the witnesses have told it.  After the fact, they were able to connect the robbery with the videotape and Michael's friend's admission to the FBI.  Ever since then they have probably been trying to reverse engineer what the officer did to protect his horrendous actions.

That scenario would explain why they didn't arrest the other young man at the scene or shortly thereafter, because that wasn't the reason for the police stop.  Having uncorrupted timelines will be critical for justice for Michael.

the saddest part to all of this is that they are now winning, because all anyone is talking about is Michael, not Wilson, the officer.

Horrendous coincidence possibly, reminds me of the movie "Crash".

They probably wish they hadn't, but the Ferguson police chief said several days ago that this was a routine traffic control incident — just telling kids to get off the street — and explicitly said it was unrelated to the nearby robbery.

Not to mention the normal police procedure for approaching and apprehending robbery suspects is not to merely roll down your window and tell said suspects, "Get the fuck on the sidewalk." It's pretty clear Wilson wasn't thinking of these two young men as suspects at all.
