    Really poverty isn't that high in Ferguson. For 2008-12, 60% homeownership rate; 22% of persons below the poverty level. (In Detroit over that period, 38% of persons were below the poverty level.)

      22% is high.

      Comparing it to possibly the worst in the nation is a really really bad way to go.

        Yes, of course a 22% poverty rate is well above average (and I'm sure it's higher in some parts of Ferguson). But considering that many people's stereotypes about poverty are informed by places like Detroit — and the worst parts, at that — I think it's reasonable to draw the contrast.
