    How do you format diaries so that they iunclude footnotes like this one?

      Simplest way: when I want to include a footnote, I put <sup> and </sup> around the note (usually a number, could be a word or phrase, or letter). It'd look like thisword - and then I repeat it below, at the end of the diary.  I use <H2> and </H2> to denote section titles and the Footnotes separator, and usually put a blank line above each. The blank line above the footnotes usually also includes a line of underscores ("_") so that it helps set it off.example
