The struggle story made no sense at all when this was an innocent college student taking a walk. But if it was a person fleeing from a strongarm robbery, who knew that an arrest would result in incarceration, it absolutely would make sense for him to struggle with the police. It doesn't mean that he DID resist, but it certainly makes it a lot more believable that he did.

especially when witnesses confirm that he had turned and attempted to surrender.  What is it you're trying to prove exactly?  That Brown was no angel?  We've already confirmed that.

you can shit on my face but that doesn't mean I have to lick my lips

    •  No, the shooting is not justified. (5+ / 0-)

Two guys were walking in the street a block from their homes.

All the cop had to do was ignore them. Or be polite.

The cop was a dick and escalated the situation by cursing at them and then reversing his car to escalate it again by challenging them (allegedly).

A struggle ensued with the cop still in his car (allegedly).

Brown broke away and ran. The cop shot at him.

The shots missed. So the fuck what? The cop is a bad shot.

Brown turned to face the cop. He was then shot 4 times on this inside of his arm and hand. And finished with 2 to the head.

      For walking.

What the fuck kind of maniacal asshole would try to spin that situation as a justifiable shooting?

Yes, the right-wing assholes of Missouri will do so, seeking by all means to exonerate the shooter.

Why the fuck would you want to stand with them?

        1) hate militarization of the police
        2) recognize that police need to be kept in check
        3) understand that we are next unless we stand up for all citizens mistreated by the police
        4) are calling it a bad shoot.
        5) Are pissed that there is no dash cam etc.
        6) are mad about how the media are being restricted (airspace, cordoned off into a free speech zone etc)

The powers that be are controlling your mind to hate the right even when we agree on so much.

        consider yourself divided and conquered.

        •  Nowhere did I say right-wingers were monolithic. (0+ / 0-)

Missouri right-wing assholes are lining up to exonerate the police shooter and crush attempts to protest their actions with heavy-handed military-style occupation.

          I oppose them. Nothing more.

This is a left-wing website. If you are uncomfortable with expressions of lefty sensibilities, there are plenty of online fora you can seek out that are free of such perspectives.

It is well known that right-wing libertarians exist who oppose extensive police powers, as they oppose many forms of "big government". The crossover of right libertarians with left and progressive views is, shall we say, extremely limited.

No one controls my mind. Your over-reaching assertion that those on the left resist the right out of "hate" and not out of "reason" is wrong. And out of line.

I resist the right based on principle, not based on emotion.

          Deal with it.

picture trying to grab somebody's neck and pull him into the car. (As one witness described.) It's ridiculous. The only way there could have been a struggle while the officer was in the car would have been if Brown reached in and started it.
All witnesses agree that there was a "tussle" at the car.
Assaulting a law enforcement officer and trying to take his gun makes Brown a dangerous felon from the git go, stolen cigars aside.
