  •  That irrelevant video served its purpose (9+ / 0-)

As soon as it was released, Bing and Yahoo's headlines became 'Mike Brown was suspect.' Suspect means guilty. Suspect means not worthy of due process. Suspects may be subdued by any means necessary before trial.

It is grossly irresponsible for the headlines to ignore that 1) the killer cop didn't know he was a suspect 2) that's not why the killer cop shot Mike Brown.

I am pretty certain that if the video hadn't surfaced they would have come up with something else.

    'Brown punched someone at school'

    'Brown suspended for weed possession'

Anything to divert attention from the only thing that matters.

The media are lightning quick to report on a beauty store looting or a tape of a convenience store tussle but strangely uncurious about why the executor of an unarmed teen is a fugitive from justice.

"I am not interested in picking up crumbs of compassion thrown from the table of someone who considers himself my master. I want the full menu of rights." (From "You Said a Mouthful" by Bishop Desmond Tutu - South African bishop & activist, b.1931)
