  •  Good luck trying to get the Dem to pull out (5+ / 0-)

I agree it makes sense, but there's too many actual progressive Democrats in Kansas and that would royally piss them off. I suspect if Orman pulled out Taylor could raise money more easily as well, and HE would have a shot. Kansans appear to be truly and fully done with Pat Roberts.

He shifted KS-Sen to Likely R from Safe after the primary, and previously moved KS-Gov to tossup.

However, I'm perplexed by his move of HI-Gov from Lean D to Tossup after the primary.  Maybe if the unpopular Abercrombie had been renominated that would be justified, but doing so after Ige, with less baggage, is the nominee doesn't make sense to me.

    •  ^^that wasn't intended (5+ / 0-)

as a reply to ColoDem's comment; it was supposed to stand on its own.  I guess I've gotten too used to hitting "Reply" instead of "Post a comment".

    •  Taylor is NOT a progressive Democrat (7+ / 0-)

      let's make that very clear.

Taylor is newfound with supporting Pro-Choice, and in the past went on the record stating it goes against his personal beliefs but it is 'the settled law' in fact, that's still his answer on his most recent questionaire.

      He didn't back a non-discrimination policy.

He, as a matter of a poltiical ploy said that they couldn't afford to prosecute spousal abuse which then turned it into a misdemeanor ticket.   He gambled with the lives of women in relationships and when it didn't go his way he fixed it - still, it was a gamble a lot of people don't quite like.

Orman may be an (I), but he's stated pro-choice, he's pro-equality, and frankly, on the issues that mean a lot as a senator, especially in appointing judges, I'd take him over Taylor every single day of the week.
