will be only the 7th day the grand jury will have met (assuming today was Day 1).  The prosecutor presents evidence to a grand jury -- witnesses come and testify, etc.  So I don't think it would be all that unusual for a grand jury to hear evidence in this case for seven days. Think about how many high profile murder cases have only seven days of testimony.

"powers that be" put some urgency behind things, October 1 could be moved up to next Wednesday, or maybe the following week.

I mean really, don't you think that any eyewitnesses from the Ferguson community would be willing (eager even) to get this resolved sooner rather than later?

Some of the forensic analysis isn't even complete yet.

So, no, I don't think that with just today and next Wednesday they could do it.  With today and next Wednesday, they may not even get through all the witnesses -- there were a bunch of people in the area who either saw or heard things.  They could be presenting 10 or 15 witnesses, even before they get to the physical evidence.
