  •  So many things wrong. 1) Even if you (30+ / 0-)

give the officers weight - very hard job, judgement calls, etc. - they *didn't fucking try* to calm the situation down an at all! For fuck's sake - they can't even try!; 2) they lied about "overhand grip" - very big lie; 3) handcuffs? On an incqapacitated man? Staight up indignity. Straight up dehumanizing.

Fucking sick to my stomach right now

what a difficult job police have ever again. It didn't look to me like those officers exerted themselves any.

      •  Why must people do this? (0+ / 0-)

Do you know how many cops died responding to the WTC attacks? That's just one event. Cops die risking themselves for others an awful lot. Why must people throw out not only their sense, but their honestly and dignity when responding to things like this.

how you accuse him of drawing conclusions from "one event," and then you go on to cite as your evidence THE one event. The ultimate outlier.

            Seriously bad comprehension skills.

The "one event" I refer to is 9/11. As in, that's just one vent we can point to to show that cops regularly put their safety and lives on the line for others in truly courageous and selfless ways.
            •  Well I misread you (0+ / 0-)

But the idea that 9/11 is a good example of why policing is dangerous in America is a complete farce.

It's an absolute outlier and not representative of the dangers of policing. Why does it upset you that people suggest policing is not as dangerous as they want us to believe it is?

There's no real danger when police kill BEFORE a threat occurs.

        •  I know many officers put their lives on the line (0+ / 0-)

but somehow it never seems to be the brave and conscientious ones complaining about what a tough job they have. It's always the ones saying that their "hands are tied" by such trivia as rules, procedures and civil liberties. Well, when you ignore those things, it doesn't look so difficult after all.

Everything worth doing is worth doing right. You don't cut corners with people's rights, let alone people's lives.
