I took the word "cured" directly from ABC's article. The journalist wrote:

"Nancy Writebol and Dr. Kent Brantly have been cured of the Ebola virus and released from Emory Hospital in Atlanta."
The doctor's said "recovered." They also said blood tests were given as well as urine tests and the virus wasn't found.

    Then there's Forbes' headline:

American Missionaries Cured of Ebola Infections; Brantly: 'Today Is A Miraculous Day'

    So let's look up "cured"

past tense: cured; past participle: cured
relieve (a person or animal) of the symptoms of a disease or condition.
"he was cured of the disease"
synonyms:    heal, restore to health, make well/better; archaiccleanse
"after a long course of treatment, he was cured"

    Here's recovered:

past tense: recovered; past participle: recovered
return to a normal state of health, mind, or strength.
"Neil is still recovering from shock"
synonyms:    recuperate, get better, convalesce, regain one's strength, get stronger, get back on one's feet

Me here: I dunno. This one is a close call.
