  •  The New York Times has really (0+ / 0-)

struck new lows covering this story. And I had very little respect for them before hand.

How the f**k do you spread the police propaganda in the young man's obituary? Is it relevant that he - like the vast majority of adolescents - had tried drugs and alcohol? And he had actually shoplifted a box of cigars. How untypical is that?

Were the idiots at the Times ever teenagers themselves? This behavior is pretty much standard operating procedure for most of the teens I grew up with. We swore a lot. we dreamed of success, we challenged authority.  Rich or poor, White or Black, we all did this stuff.

And I haven't been a teenager in 40 years, so this conduct is not exactly new. But the Times wants to use this to smear an innocent victim of a murderous cop.

Cops were assholes back in my day, but they didn't kill people so frequently. They were violent - every squad car in my neighborhood had a phone book in the trunk. It was used to beat the hell out of you without leaving bruises. But they didn't shoot people multiple times over nothing.

Here's my take on it - the revolution will not be blogged, it has to be slogged. - Deoliver47
