why men don't vote for them? Seems that Republicans are less anxious to write off whole demographics than Dems are. No wonder we're losing even though the public is with us on the issues.

    •  because dems aren't doing that? and men vote dem? (1+ / 0-)

(i.e. the Archie Bunker types) or the ultra rich CEO vote (i.e. the 1%). However, Democrats do just fine among minority males (i.e. black and Latino), and with younger, white, college educated males, and even among middle class males such as college professors, etc. Do Democrats need to do more outreach, especially to blue collar working class males, where I think they have lost some traction? Yes, I do. But Democrats are not as far behind with the male vote as Republicans are with the female vote.

      Men don't vote Democratic?

I do and am quite male.  So do my brothers and dad and many friends.

Of course, we're not assholes.  Maybe that was the word you were looking for?

I am not religious, and did NOT say I enjoyed sects.

'Why don't Democrats wonder why Southern and Midwest white straight Christian men' don't vote for them. Which is genuinely a problem, because the gap is so gigantic that it offsets gains made across all other demographics and regions. You can see it with statistics of white voters in the 2012 U.S. Presidential election; the Democratic Party is within the low single-digits of having parity with white voters in every region but the U.S. South, where the gap is so wide that it skews the statistical analysis.

that's why nobody is scratching their head and wondering about it.

LBJ predicted this when the CRA was passed 50 years ago.

There are a big core of reactionaries in this country which vote GOP out of tribalistic interest. They strongly believe that it's better to poke your neighbor's eye out than join hands and uplift everyone together. No Dem marketing campaign will ever change that. Barack Obama proved that the Democratic Party can win national elections without them. Move on. Upwards and onwards.
