    I understand the snark, but I do not agree, in part.

    The use of guns by children with adult supervision is as old as guns themselves.

    Even in the very liberal summer camp my family attended, rifles were available for children above the age of 10.  We had archery, go-carts, minibikes, and a swimming pool too - all dangerous hobbies.

    Was it advisable to allow a young child a full clip of ammo in a semi-automatic weapon?  Clearly not.

    But there are many, many people for whom hunting and shooting are valid pastimes with their children.  Not all of them are fetishists.

    For the record, I do not own a firearm and I believe in gun restrictions.
