  •  My daughter and son-in-law work for a delivery (7+ / 0-)

company called Prestige and they are in the same boat. They are called independent contractors and must use their own vehicles, which must be in top-notch shape. They are paid mileage but nothing in wear and tear, don't have income or FICA taxes taken from their pay. I knew there was something not right about this and now I know what it is. They both work between 9 and 10 hours a day and more during the Christmas season.

BTW, my daughter was an assistant manager at a Speedway gasoline location for over 13 years. She was well-respected and well-liked at her store. But then Speedway does what it always does - it lays off long time positions in management because those employees are making too much and they'd prefer to train new people to keeping the experienced ones.

I don't know if Ghandi actually said "I love your Christ, but I don't like your Christians", but I'm gonna keep attributing it to him. If he didn't actually say it, he was probably thinking it.
