      meets with people here. That's fine if that's your thing or you just particularly like certain people for whatever reason.

      For me, however, this is an interesting and sometimes enlightening hobby but mostly its just a good daily read. When I click it closed, it disappears completely from my life.

        I personally don't like the fact that there are facebook groups and that the admins measure how much a diary was liked on facebook how often it was twittered, etc.

        The facebook groups allow for kossacks to organize behind other people's back in those groups. It's then really not a news site but a socializing site with the purpose to push an agenda.

        I don't like the whole facebook concept. I can understand twitter as a method of distribution, but facebook ... no.

        My impression is that the people who go to meet-ups and do engage in activism on the ground, would to the same activism in other groups (or actually do that), without the dailykos meet-up in existence.

        At least I feel that the meet-ups haven't evolved to that kind of organization unit that it serves a specific goal for a specific purpose in political activism.
