    The SOS office allowed a name to be removed from the ballot in a KS House race AFTER the deadline date due to a "misunderstanding".  Kobach originally denied the request, but his own board overturned the ruling.

    3. In re Larry Joe Lambert
    Lambert objected to the Secretary of State’s rejection of
    his attempt to withdraw his candidacy. The Secretary had
    ruled Lambert’s withdrawal was late, having been received
    June 12, after the deadline at noon on June 11.

    The objections board sustained the objection. Due
    to a misunderstanding, Lambert had postmarked his
    withdrawal letter on the deadline. Lambert was removed
    from the candidate list.
