Listening to these guys I realize more than ever before that there's a sense of community and bond between people who work in this bizarre secret world. You can bet that these guys have deep friends in agencies around the world and especially MI5, Likund, french, whatever.

Plame's leak and the fact that nothing has been done for 2 years has pushed these guys over the edge.  The leak is so evil and so bush league at the same time. The lies propogated through the media that has allowed the traitors to go undisciplined for 2 years, has these guys really pissed. They feel compelled to speak out. They keep saying that this is "Unprecedented" and since it hasn't been addressed, the US can no longer be trusted. Period. These guys are saying that "This must be fixed."

Anyway, what occurs to me is that the anger throughout the greater intelligence community over the Plame leak impelled MI5 to leak the smoking gun documents. I'll bet that the leak came from high up in MI5. High enough up that Blair couldn't stop or deny it. This is getting interesting.

...that the Bush administration is so hubristic that they don't even fear the global intelligence community?  That they'd risk the wrath of the CIA and the NSA and all of our intelligence partners this way?

They truly believe they are unstoppable.  I believe even today they feel this way.  I cannot wait to see them proven wrong.

Yes, hubris and it's evil twin, stupidity.
Also, remember that Bush I ran the CIA in the late 70's/early 80's. He ran it from the WH under Reagan in the 80's. They've had it in their control for several generations. It took a long time to get this rotten. Finally, I think the pressure built to such a degree that leaks started popping across the Atlantic.
