  •  You guys are making me feel guilty... (none)
On the one hand, I have a job I can get out of going to if I made some excuse, but I won't have very much money and I would miss getting my paycheck which would mean I would be showing up in Crawford with about $150 in my pocket and Google Maps says it's a 1 day, 3 hour drive from L.A.

I really want to go and be a part of this, but I don't think I can afford to do it... but I feel like if I don't go, I am being hypocritical- that I am not willing to put myself on the line for my beliefs.

    What should I do?

    •  Probably not go. (none)
I read this in a book somewheres:

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."
      ecclesiastes 3:1

This war isn't going away anytimes soon, and there will be plenty of work for you to do in your turn.

The less a man knows about how sausages and laws are made, the easier it is to steal his vote and give him botulism.

    •  I (none)
have no car, a job, my bank account is overdrawn by about $150, and i'm 2 days away by car. and i wrote this diary. how's that for guilt? ;)

no, but seriously.. i strongly encourage you to come if it is within the realm of possibility. we need as many peaceful, strong-willed people as we can get. if you find other people in your area, you can split travel costs and such.

    •  You Should Go (none)
If you feel in your heart that you should go, you should go.  I think, that if you won't get fired if you go, and you have enough money to make it there and back, you should go.

I'm sure you will make up the lost wages some way or another.
