  •  i had the opportunity to visit japan last summer, (4.00)
and I'm afraid to say that our American culture simply does not have the same degree of respect for honor, and decency as the Japanese culture has.

In America wisdom is not a virtue, rather, unquestionable lemming-like ignorance is the only trait that will suffice.

My visit to Japan was an eye opening experience, even at the a-bomb peace park, in Hiroshima, I was treated with the most incredible kindness that I have ever experienced, all coming from strangers who obviously knew that i was from America.

I talked with several people in the park who were living in Hiroshima at the time of the bombing and they weren't resentful at all of my nationality (even though I'm not really American, I'm from Venezuela.)

I could not, and still don't, understand why when hundreds of thousands of people were incinerated instantly, and millions harmed for rest of their lives, the Japanese chose to understand that I wasn't a part of it, and when 3k people were murdered because our government didn't intervene, we went on an unholy crusade and began bombing, torturing, raping, killing and destroying the innocent.

    Where did we go wrong?

I believe in morality, I believe in a higher being, but I can not imagine that this being would ever condone, or endorse of the actions of America.

Our first step towards regaining our morality is to face them fact that we have sinned, we have clearly gone against the teachings of EVERY religion, and if I am disappointed, then I'm that our god has to be furious.

The Bill of Rights, not the Ten Commandments, should be on our buildings

    •  The Japanese (none)
We were stationed in Hawaii on 9/11 and of course the months following, they took a hit in tourism. Mainly because the Japanese economy was hurting but also because the Japanese thought it disrespectful to come to the US and vacation in our time of grief. I wish our MSM would learn a thing or two from the Japanese on things like that.

Being a patriot means you have to do more than wave a flag!
