    careers on corporate boards and as executives within the defense industry, Byrnes lost the opportunity to cash in with the public admonishment. His retirement benefit is walking around money compared to what was really taken from him. With this notification to future employers that Byrnes will have no influence at DOD, or worse hiring Byrnes will have negative consequences, Byrnes has few options.

    Despite the fact that virtually no one's sense of morality is offended by what Byrnes is supposed to have done the SCLM won't touch him either. No media outlet is going to risk offending Rummy and the gang either.

    This was done to destroy Byrnes; he must have done something outrageously honest to deserve this.
